Participants will be responsible for arranging their own flights to Mexico. A travel agent can help you find the best fare, and you can also try cheaptickets.com to bid for a fare or contact   ASAPtickets.com.

Please ensure not to book flights that create undo pressure to rush to, or from, the opening/closing circles.

Allow sufficient time for traffic and for unforeseen circumstances.

    ARRIVAL TIME: 2-3pm,

    CHECK-IN TIME: 3pm,

CHECKOUT TIME: 12pm with lunch served after checkout

We recommend flying in and out of the Cozumel airport (instead of Cancun).

Although it is relatively easy to get from Cancun to Cozumel, if you have never done so it can create undue stress.

Consider arriving at least one or more days before and staying for a time after the retreat. Cozumel and surrounding areas have a LOT  to offer!

The hotel can answer  questions about options for  extending your stay (with special discounted rates available)..

    more about FLIGHTS:

Cancun International airport (CUN) is a global travel hub. Direct flights from most major cities in Europe and the Americas are available.

There are also direct flights to the Mexico City airport (MEX) which provide access to short connecting flights to Cozumel (CZM). There are inexpensive and abundant flights directly to Cozumel from a number of  states (eg Texas).

Make airline reservations early to secure the best price on round trip travel to Cancun or Cozumel, Mexico. Although it is possible to fly into Cancun then travel by ground and ferry to Cozumel, again the recommendation is to save yourself stress and fly into Cozumel directly.

PICKUPS IN MEXICO Because it is easy and quick to take a local taxi to the hotel (10 min. drive) there will be no shuttle service provided.

The airport in Cozumel is tiny. When you leave the airport there will be cabs to take you to Hotel B in only 5 minutes. We recommend Flex Shuttle for less than $200.00 MXN ($10USD) per person in a shared cab.

    SAFETY IN MEXICO

    Whats Not included:

    SAFETY IN MEXICO

Some people are concerned about traveling in Mexico yet it is actually a very safe and friendly country.  Mexico has an enduring tradition of valuing family and is a very safe place for visitors. If you are not involved with illegal activities, any dangers that exist would be similar to the U.S.: far-removed yet existing.

Given the myriad dangers and number of shootings in the US, Mexicans wonder why Americans are worried about safety. Many are confused: thinking that all of Mexico is dangerous yet there are websites that compare the safety levels of each city. One of this event’s leaders has spent over a year in Mexico with her children and found it to be safe.  As always, follow your own guidance.

    • Practice common sense precautions. There will be a safe in each room. Keep valuables hidden. If you are inclined, use a money belt to deter pickpockets. (Trust in Allah, and tie up your camel”).
    • Do not bring any illegal drugs into Mexico.

Mexico does not require Coronavirus testing to enter the country

Should you forget something, the shopping in Cozumel is wonderful and you can find whatever you may need.

    PURE FOOD AND WATER

We will be drinking purified water and eating food that is prepared with Westerners in mind.

It’s common knowledge not to drink tap water in Mexico or to use it even for brushing teeth. Every restaurant and bar uses purified water to clean their food and for ice.  Most travelers waste money (and plastic) buying bottled water everywhere they go. However, unlike most American restaurants that offer tap water, if you ask for a glass of water in Mexico, it will be purified (and FREE!).

You should be physically able to walk and dance without too much trouble, as our program will include these activities.
